Contra Advance: The Alien Wars EX from Konami will be heading to the Wii U’s Virtual Console rather soon—it’s being referred to as a “loose port” of SNES’s Contra III: The Alien Wars, which first appeared on Game Boy Advance game from 2002.
There won’t be any Mega Bombs that clear the screen, and there won’t be any dual-wield ability. However, players have the ability to lock aim while moving, and you’ll be able to revert to a previous weapon even after grabbing a new one. There will also be two levels that were originally seen in the Sega Genesis Contra: Hard Corps instead of the Mode 7 stages of the SNES version.
Surely this title will have a fan base of its own that’s excited for the release, many of whom played the original game or the GBA port twelve years ago.
