Crash Team Racing Might Gas Out At Starting Line

Well, on the Switch anyway. Although everything seemed to be set and ready to go for a Switch release of Crash Team Racing on June 21st 2019, it’s being reported that multiple retailers have removed their preorder options for the Switch version of this title. The official website for Crash Team Racing is also now displaying a message that reads “Coming Soon” under the Switch preorder section—both digital and physical copy—while the original release date remains in place for the Playstation 4 and Xbox One versions.

As a result, speculation is running rampant online that Crash Team Racing may not have this release date any longer, or that the game is in the process of being cancelled on Switch. While the latter is an extreme response, a delayed release date on Switch is not without precedent. Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy was a first-release on the PS4 in 2017, and only arrived on other platforms—including the Switch—a full year later. With the Spyro Reignited Trilogy, however… those Switch rumors have left the station and there’s yet to be any news about it coming to Nintendo’s platform. So really, CTR could go either way.

We’ll let you know when or if we hear updates on the Switch release for this title.

Dave will tell you that he likes to play video games, this is in fact a lie. What he really likes to do is buy games, and leaving them sitting unopened on his shelf. He is a monster.
