I almost hesitate to post this, as it’s very much approaching non-news. The reason I do so, is because I’ve been doing my best to bring you the opinions of those in the gaming industry, publishers especially, about the Wii U. What they think of the next gen of Nintendo hardware really matters a great deal to the future health of the platform. Which is why this almost non-comment from Bethesda’s Peter Hines bugs me.
It’s definitely a possibility for the future. We’ll look at any platform that will support that games we’re trying to make, but that’s the key thing – the console has to support the game as it is designed.
Now fair enough, they’re just trying to ship Skyrim right now, and he points out how huge an undertaking a simultaneous 3-platform release already is, without adding another one to the mix. However, Nintendo Magazine just leaves it at that. No ‘What do you think of the hardware?’ or ‘Do you have any ideas for the Wii U?’. Hard-hitting reporting my friends, very deep stuff.
