The upcoming Wii U version of Resident Evil: Revelations is going to be featuring off-screen play, along with support for the Pro Controller. But, if you’ve been itching to get your hands back on a Wii remote and Nunchuk, the way you did on the Wii’s Resident Evil 4, you’re out of luck. The famous duo isn’t going to be supported in this new title, leaving you to rely on the GamePad for play.
Capcom’s Mike Lumm had a few things to say about it on the Capcom Unity forums:
“Unfortunately [Revelations] is only supported by the Wii U gamepad at the moment. We’re doing what we can to get the new classic controller compatibility, but the game’s not setup to track motions from the Wii remote at this time.”
And if those final three words are leaving you with hope that a patch or upgrade will make it happen in the future, you might want to set that hope aside for a little while. Currently, there are no plans to support these controllers.
