Bandai Namco Working on Unannounced Switch Shooter?

Take everything from here forward with a grain of salt. This is just a rumor, so it’s something to keep an eye on and not repeat as fact—though what we’re seeing is pretty compelling.

The rumor comes from LinkedIn, the business networking site that has a history of revealing things that are supposed to be a secret, thanks to its frequent emails to “congratulate so-and-so on their new job.” Um, oops?

This time, online sleuths have found the profile of Shawn Pitman, a lead designer at Bandai Namco’s Singapore Studio, listing an unannounced IP exclusive to the Nintendo Switch… which is also an FPS.

We’re already sitting on rumors that Bandai Namco is working on Metroid Prime 4, and this seems to put another cog in that wheel. This doesn’t officially reveal anything—certainly the company could be working on a brand new IP—but either way, this is a Switch exclusive, which means Bandai Namco is currently dedicated to Nintendo’s console.

We know they’re working on other Switch projects, to boot—Dark Souls: Remastered is coming to Switch on May 25th of this year—so it’s not out of the realm of speculation that they’re working on a beloved franchise, too.

We’ll have to wait and see.
