Nintendo is no stranger to tie-in marketing, and as we’ve been seeing around the world these days, it’s time to tie-in delicious, not-entirely-nutritious food and the joys of sitting on the couch for hours playing a video game. Oh yes, it’s time to get boosted with Mario Kart 8 toys and McDonald’s Happy Meals in North America!
We’re getting Mario, Luigi, Peach, DK, Bowser, Yoshi, and even Toad, all in their own customized vehicles. You can also get a fun Mario-themed visor hat, and these toys will be compatible with the McPlay smart device app. More Mario fun!
The toys aren’t quite in stores yet, but we’re seeing “Next Happy Meal” as their rotation schedule, which means we’ll probably see them next month or so. That said, doubtless there will be a nice, shiny press release to let us all know it’s time to go eat some hamburgers and fries, so stay tuned—we’ll let you know when it’s time to snake around to your local Mickey D’s and get munching!
