And it shall be called: Yooka-Laylee. Previously, we’ve seen it referred to in rumor posts as Project Ukulele, but now it’s officially being pitched as the Banjo-Kazooie spiritual successor, even sharing the same dual-character arrangement during gameplay.
The character of Yooka is a chameleon who rolls to attack baddies, while Laylee is a purple bat who can lift both characters up into the air for crossing wide areas of terrain.
There’s not a lot of information out on this game yet, though Playtonic has begun a Kickstarter campaign to support its development (which goes live today). The Wii U eShop will be one of the release platforms for this title, and the crowdfunding rate will offer the game to backers for $15 USD.
And now you know as much as we do. Hang tight for news of future developments!
