Remember that Snake Skin 3DS? You can’t have it

So that awesome snake skin 3DS that was going to come bundled with Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D?  You can’t buy it.  Well you can, but there are a couple of hoops that you need to jump through first, and you’re not guaranteed the ability to actually purchase it.  For $299.99.

First you need to have an account on the Konami store, which is Japanese.  So I guess you’ll need to learn Japanese, or hit the ‘translate’ button on Google.  Then you need to sign up for a Konami ID. (Might be able to use one for the other, I’m not sure.) Then you’ll need to enter in a raffle by placing an order.  Then if you’re one of the lucky few, you’ll be able to pay the Japanese equivalent of $300, which is a nice $90 premium on the regular 3DS + game.  And usually on these bundles you’ll save $10 or so, so really you’re talking $100 for that snake skin effect.

That had better be REAL SNAKE SKIN Konami.  Or so help me I…. won’t buy one.  Well I guess that’s not much of a threat, now is it?
