Just like these cards I picked up at PAX Prime 2011, the upcoming Kid Icarus: Uprising will come with 6 random augmented reality cards. I assumed there would be just the ones in the box, like with the 3DS itself, but according to siliconera, there are more. Many, many more. As in hundreds of them.
Now they don’t do anything in the main game as far as we know, but if you place two next to each other you can watch the characters fight in the AR Card Battle Mode.
There will be special events where you’ll be able to get cards, and I’m hoping the upcoming PAX East 2012 will be one of them. If there are more, I’ll be sure to post them up for you to have a look at them.
