Hold onto your horses, kids. Yes, the 3DS XL won’t support your standard Circle Pad Pro, but it’s not worth getting your knickers in a knot. The system will be getting its own peripheral later this year, so you’ll have to sit tight until then… but at least you know it’s happening!
Satoru Iwata announced to shareholders that Nintendo has plans to release the attachment for the XL later in the year, but that’s about it. Details on things like size, price, or appearance are yet to come.
The good news is, you won’t have to replace all your 3D peripherals if you decide to go with the XL. Apparently the Kid Icarus: Uprising stand will still work… o_O
