Earlier this year at E3, Nintendo announced that it had plans for a new Wii Fit game in the works for the Wii U, of course named Wii Fit U. Not much has come down the line about it since then, but the Nintendo Direct presentation yesterday revealed some footage of the new game, plus a release date.
Turns out we’ll see Wii Fit U in the first quarter of 2013 in North America. The game contains 77 different activities to get you up and moving, and we’ll see all of the categories familiar to those who used Wii Fit, plus a new dance category for those who want a little groove with their move.
The Wii Fit U also comes with a pedometer that can be worn throughout the day, and which will show how many calories are burnt during use. It’ll then be able to upload the data onto Wii Fit U through the GamePad, so you can keep track of your fitness throughout the day—not just while playing.
