Recently, Time Warner presented its latest financial results and hosted a Q & A for investors wanting to know about the company’s upcoming plans. In case you’ve forgotten, Time Warner isn’t just a big shot on the silver screen and boob tube—they’re a giant in the gaming industry too.
They’re probably best known these days for the Batman titles they published, Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City, both which were critically acclaimed and arguably did a lot for the franchise. And now, it looks like the Dark Knight is set to return fairly soon, because John K. Martin (CFO and CAO of Time Warner) happened to let slip that the series is set to return this year:
“And we also have a strong games release this year, which will include the next release in the Batman Arkham franchise. So all in all, we expect Warners to post another very strong year in 2013. And with a little luck, the year should be as good or maybe even a little bit better than 2012.”
And since we have Batman: Arkham City Armored Edition heading to the Wii U, we have high hopes that the next console entry for Batman will hit the Wii U as well—especially if Time Warner is trying to make an even larger profit in 2013. Presumably additional details about this title will come down the line in the upcoming months—we’ll keep you posted!
