Disney Infinity: Here Come the Cars

Disney is slowly unveiling more and more information about Disney Infinity as the release date draws nearer—specifically about those extras they want players to purchase, in addition to the game. Just like with Skylanders, there will be plenty of options for you to purchase to add to your game experience, including items that buff your characters.

The priciest of these extras are the Play Sets, which have been announced at a wallet-busting cost of $34.99, and Disney has recently confirmed that a new Play Set based on the Cars films will be available early on in addition to the Starter Set.

We don’t yet know which characters or items are in the Cars Play Set, or if you’ll be able to buy characters such as Lightning McQueen and Mater separately (for $12.99).

The Play Set will take place in virtual Radiator Springs, and players will be able to race around full-sized tracks, pulling off “amazing, gravity-defying feats” in a dedicated stunt park. Players will also have the option of creating their own tracks and racing challenges.

The Cars Play Set joins the cast with confirmed sets based on Monsters, Inc., Pirates of the Caribbean, and The Incredibles. Mind you, none of these are huge surprises, as we saw them all in the trailer, but if you were waiting for an official announcement on this, now you have it.

Take a look at the trailer below for some in-game footage!

Dave will tell you that he likes to play video games, this is in fact a lie. What he really likes to do is buy games, and leaving them sitting unopened on his shelf. He is a monster.
