Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D Gets Outsourced

If you heard some chatter awhile back about Monster Games possibly developing a new game for Nintendo, you may have dismissed it as a rumor started by poor journalism—like most folks did, it seems. However, it turns out there was a bit of truth to the rumor after all, apart from the “new” aspect.

Monster Games isn’t creating a new game for Nintendo, but it is working on a game for them for the 3DS. It’s Donkey Kong Country Returns for the 3DS… the port.

The Wii version of the game was released in 2010, done by Retro Studios, and received plenty of praise for its fun and challenges. Why Retro isn’t in charge of the port is a question no one seems to have an answer to right now—maybe they’re working on something of their own? Who knows.

Either way, 3DS owners will have a chance to play this DK game on their handheld in the near future, and hopefully the 3D version it’ll be just as much fun as the Wii edition.

Dave will tell you that he likes to play video games, this is in fact a lie. What he really likes to do is buy games, and leaving them sitting unopened on his shelf. He is a monster.
