Starting this month, Activision and the fast-food giant McDonalds are teaming up to present characters from the Activision game Skylanders Giants inside of Happy Meals. This promotion begins on April 12th (this Friday), and will run until May 2nd. Currently, the program is only confirmed for the United States, but there are plans to roll it out to other countries very soon.
Happy Meals will contain one of nine character figures, as well as a $10 coupon that discounts the Skylanders Giants Starter Pack (which, we should note, is available on the Wii, Wii U, and 3DS).
While you can’t expect to use these in-game, the figures appear to have at least one moving part—ie. an arm, or a “missile”—and are based on nine popular characters: Spyro, Chop Chop, Crusher, Drobot, Gil Grunt, Ignitor, Jet-Vac, Kaos, and Tree-Rex.
If I’ve said it once about Skylanders, I’ve said it a hundred times: “Parents, start your wallets…!”
