The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise has somehow managed to stay alive and well for the past several decades, bringing the pizza-loving heroes in a half shell to kids (and adults, let’s be honest) in various forms. Currently, the turtles are enjoying a run on a Nickelodeon animated series, which will soon be complemented by a video game for the Wii and 3DS (and Xbox 360).
The game will be a side-scrolling brawler with local multiplayer on the Wii version. Players will be able to pick up a controller and join in or leave at any time, and the characters will be upgradeable with secondary items and abilities throughout the game’s progress.
We’ll see this new title emerge on October 22nd in North America, and it’ll be published by Activision and developed by Magic Pockets. Fans of the show will be excited to hear that the game will bridge the action between the first two seasons, and feature all four of the famous turtles.
No trailer just yet, but stay tuned!
