Child of Light Coming to Wii U

Ubisoft’s Patrick Plourde made an announcement yesterday at GDC Europe—one which should have Wii U owners a little excited, considering the notable lack of Ubisoft titles heading to the system after Rayman Legends. The director of Far Cry 3 has a new project titled Child of Light, and this downloadable, side-scrolling RPG uses the same engine (UbiArt) as the aforementioned Rayman game.

The initial screenshots of the game are visually stunning, with the art style looking perfect for this type of fantasy slash fairytale story. Players will help the main character of Aurora through a lucid dream state, and there will be an option for a second player to assist in the main storyline.

Check out the video below for a little more about the game’s premise, as well as some artistically stunning gameplay footage.
