Long, long ago… in May, actually… we learned through a SEGA-themed Nintendo Direct that Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Games would be heading to the Wii U sometime this year. It’s the first Mario & Sonic title for the system, and will be a well-rounded title with plenty of new events for players.
At the time, no release date was given for the game, but a recent notification on the Wii U has let us kno that it’ll skate into view on November 8th, 2013. The message was sent out to North American Wii U owners only, however, so presently we don’t know if the same will be true for Europe or Japan.
Despite the controversy surrounding these upcoming Olympics, first impressions of the game from various media outlets have been positive so far. Good thing Mario and friends are far above all that political posturing…
