Super Mario Bros. 3 for Wii U and 3DS Virtual Console

Yes, it’s finally happening… the moment you’ve all been waiting for… the time when Super Mario Bros. 3 emerges from the shadows so that you can play it once again! The game will be heading to the Wii U Virtual Console, according to Nintendo’s main website, which has it listed as one of the available titles for the system.

And naturally, the same listing is up for the 3DS, which means that players will be able to choose between their 3DS or 2DS, as well as the GamePad on the Wii U. How many screens  can you have Mario running on at once?

Those who have been with Mario for some time will remember that this was the game to introduce the Tanooki suit, as well as the Koopalings that both made players say “aww” and “kill them!” simultaneously (1990 was a very confusing time…).

The game was a formula builder, as its success established the way we’d see Mario games and other future platformers for decades.

At this time, there’s no specific release date listed… but it’ll likely be out quite soon.
