Since the launch of the Wii U, many consumers and retailers have had a difficult time understanding the system. There’s been plenty of confusion surrounding the difference between a Wii and a Wii U, which is suspected to have contributed to the Wii U’s lackluster sales thus far.
Nintendo has made efforts to help consumers differentiate between the two consoles, and in the past, we’ve seen a comparison chart at various games conferences handed out to attendees. Nintendo Fire received one of these charts at PAX East this year, and we assumed that it would be widely available for the rest of the year.
Evidently not, because we haven’t seen it anywhere since—however, reports are now coming in that the chart is appearing in North American stores at this time, probably in efforts to boost consumer confidence in the system leading up to the holidays.
You should be able to spot the chart in Wal-Mart and Toys R Us, and we’ll update this post if we see it elsewhere. It’s a good, clear chart, and will be handy if you or someone you know doesn’t entirely understand the difference between Nintendo’s old and new console offerings.
