You may have heard the news over the weekend that Monster Hunter 4 G will be dropping onto shelves in Japan later this year—it’s an improved and expanded upon version of the original 3DS game, and its predecessor (Monster Hunter 3 G) made way for the same “updated” re-release concept for the series in North America.
And now, Monster Hunter series producer Ryozo Tsujimoto has confirmed that it will happen once again, with Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate heading to the west in “early 2015.” This version will be the localised version of Monster Hunter 4 G, meaning that it will have all of the original game’s content plus all the additions.
Players familiar with Monster Hunter 4 already know of the ground it broke with its online multiplayer and vertical-level landscapes on the 3DS (among other things), so doubtless the Ultimate version will see significant additions as well. Currently, there’s no news on a Wii U version, but we may see this announced in the future.
