That’s a lot of random-looking letters in the title… but you get it, right? In the Nintendo Direct broadcast yesterday, it was announced that Game Boy Advance titles will begin heading to the Wii U Virtual Console this April.
We’ve been waiting for a firm date from Nintendo on this for awhile, but the first three titles are coming in April—specific dates notwithstanding. We’ll see:
- Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga
- Metroid Fusion
- Super Mario Advance 3: Yoshi’s Island
These are likely welcome arrivals to the Virtual Console service, all three titles being well-loved games from the days of GBA.
That said, we’re thinking it might be in our best interest to play these on the GamePad instead of a large-screen TV, considering their small-screen origins.
These high-profile first offerings for the GBA games is hopefully indication of the titles to come in the future.
