Pokémon Orchestral Tour in 2014

Thanks to the success of The Legend of Zelda: Symphony of the Goddesses, there’s proof that gaming fans will shell out their time and money to experience different iterations of things they love—including attending the symphony to hear the incredible, sweeping scores of their favorite games.

So, it’s time for a second Nintendo franchise to venture forth into the great music halls of the nation. The Pokémon Company International has announced the tour of Pokémon: Symphonic Evolutions, which will be a concert tour featuring live arrangements of classic Pokémon themes and tracks.

The franchise has nearly two decades of material to draw from, so there’s no shortage of music to choose to perform. Each performance will feature visuals from the games (and shows, movies…), thanks to the creative talents of the producers behind Symphony of the Goddesses.

The tour begins on August 15th at Washington, D.C.’s Warner Theatre—the perfect kick-off to the 2014 Pokémon World Championships, which begin the following day in the same city.

The tour then continues to Philadelphia in September, and so forth. Interested ‘mon masters can learn more about tour dates and tickets from the Pokémon Symphony website, which will continue to be updated as more dates are announced.

Dave will tell you that he likes to play video games, this is in fact a lie. What he really likes to do is buy games, and leaving them sitting unopened on his shelf. He is a monster.
