Relive Your Walkman Days with Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS

It’s no secret that fans of Super Smash Bros. Brawl would often turn on the game, just to hear the roar of the epic soundtrack. But where will the new game stand in terms of its musical amazingness? Well, we’re not quite sure yet if it’ll be as incredible as the previous game, but Nintendo sure is prepping us all for that possibility.

Masahiro Sakurai has just revealed that the built-in music player for Super Smash Bros. on 3DS will feature new and old remixes of classic Nintendo tunes, and that you’ll be able to listen to the soundtrack while the game is… take note, now… in sleep mode.

Yep, you’ll be able to continue to play the game’s songs even when the 3DS is closed, creating nostalgia reminiscent of the Song Walkman era. Listen while you stroll, flashy portable music player in hand!

Tracks can be switched with the shoulder buttons ‘L’ and ‘R’, which will be handy—at least until you get your favorite playlists set up. If you just can’t take the anticipation, you can start mentally preparing those playlists with a preview selection of tracks on the Smash Bros. website (and take a scroll through the musicians who worked on the game).

Head over and check it out!

Faith likes games and books and cake and writing and Lara Croft, not necessarily in that order. She also thinks a Skylanders cartoon show is a really, REALLY good idea...
