It’s happening! Nintendo of America has issued a press release with all the heavy details about the upcoming selection of Mario Kart 8 DLC in the coming months
There will be two packs of DLC which can be purchased separately or together, and they add new characters, vehicles, and courses to the racing game. Each pack has two brand new cups to play with four tracks per cup, with tracks based around fan favorite franchises like Animal Crossing and The Legend of Zelda.
You’ll also get to see some remade classics, just like in the full version of the game, such as “Wario’s Gold Mine” from Mario Kart Wii.

Mario Kart 8 Pack 1 – Released: November 2014
Pack 1 includes:
- 3 Characters: Tanooki Mario, Cat Peach, Link
- 4 Vehicles
- 8 Courses
Mario Kart 8 Pack 2 – Released: May 2015
Pack 2 includes:
- 3 Characters: Villager, Isabelle, Dry Bowser
- 4 Vehicles
- 8 Courses
Packs will be priced at $7.99 individually or $11.99 when purchased together, and there’s a bonus for picking up both packs—eight different colored Yoshis and eight different-colored Shy Guys that you can play immediately. Oh yes… everyone wants more Shy Guys on the track… right? O_O
