PAX South: Nintendo’s Shiny Line-Up

For a new convention with little major developer support, Nintendo is planning on making themselves visible in a decent way for PAX South (running from January 23rd-25th in San Antonio, Texas).

While the actual line-up of Nintendo products hasn’t been announced as huge, it’s the anticipation that’s big here. Most of the focus will be on the New Nintendo 3DS XL, but here are the two other games you might start jumping up and down for: The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D, and Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate.

If you haven’t had a chance to check out Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS yet, it’ll be there as well, but the focus really will be one the Majora’s Mask 3D release. Over the 3 days of the event, Nintendo of America will be running a “72-Hour Mask Challenge” through the event and Twitter, where attendees will be able to take photos with a real-life replica of the Majora’s Mask and receive paper versions to wear around the convention floor.

Fans who are into cosplay will like this, too—if you have a Legend of Zelda costume and wear it, you’ll be able to skip the lines to play the upcoming release.

There’s no denying that Nintendo wants to put its focus on the major release of the New Nintendo 3DS XL next month, so that’s what’ll be showcased here. Either way, Nintendo’s booth is usually bright and clean, so it should be fun to hang around.

Faith likes games and books and cake and writing and Lara Croft, not necessarily in that order. She also thinks a Skylanders cartoon show is a really, REALLY good idea...
