PAX South: Panels of Interest (Sunday)

While there are no Nintendo-specific panels happening at PAX South this year, we’ve gone through the program and highlighted several panels each day that we think might be of interest to our readers. This may be due to content, the list of panelists, or just general thematic ties.

Please remember that these suggestions are entirely subjective, and we encourage you to flip through the program on your own to find things that interest you—but perhaps our suggestions will cause something to jump out at you that you wouldn’t otherwise have noticed!

  • Bobcat Theatre: Love of Crafting – Texas Edition! (10:00am-11:00am)
    • “Geeky crafters unite! In Texas! Do you express your love of all things geeky through crafting? Join us to chat about all things crafty, creative, and geeky! Whether you sew companion cubes, create your own cosplay, knit Journey scarves, or paint scenes from your favorite game, this is the place to meet other crafters and be inspired! Panelists have experience in sewing, knitting, painting, product design, jewelry making, and more! Come join us and maybe win a handmade item!”

  • Bobcat Theatre: Games Criticism: Is it Time for a Change? (2:30pm-3:30pm)
    • “In this panel, we will discuss the state of Games Criticism, how it exists in its current form, and where we should be. Is it okay to review Bayonetta based on its sexuality? Can a game be reviewed on its violent nature? Should we only focus on graphics, gameplay, etc? What can we learn from other mediums? These questions, and many more will be discussed in the panel.”

Dave will tell you that he likes to play video games, this is in fact a lie. What he really likes to do is buy games, and leaving them sitting unopened on his shelf. He is a monster.
