Outstanding Voice Cast Coming for Xenoblade Chronicles X

While much of the buzz right now surrounding the Xenoblade franchise is for the rerelease of Xenoblade Chronicles 3D on the New Nintendo 3DS, remember that Xenoblade Chronicles X will be coming to the Wii U later on. According to the producer, Shingo Kawabata, the upcoming game will feature a rather outstanding voice cast. He had this to say about it in a discussion on Twitter:

“I wasn’t really informed of this, but it seems we’re planning on updating the official site every week. I wonder if we’ll be all right? Then again, Nomura and the web design staff are extremely motivated, so I’m sure they’ll work hard for your sake. As we present our characters, we’re also revealing the people that have lent us their voices. We’ve managed to acquire an outstanding cast, so you can look forward to hearing their work. As there was such a large amount of text, recording [the voices] took a lot of work, but the entire cast was exceptionally professional. The end result, of course, is perfection.”

The voiceover talent that we’re aware of right now for the game are:

  • Houko Kuwashima (Elma)
  • Mariya Ise (Lynlee)
  • Daisuke Sakaguchi (Tatsu)
  • Nao Takamori (Irina)
  • Tessho Genda (Van Damme)

We’ll undoubtedly see an English dub to the game during localization, but remember that the Wii game had the option for players to switch to use of the Japanese voice track. However, the English dub for the original game was very well received, so surely the same level of effort will go into a dub produced for a western audience.

Dave will tell you that he likes to play video games, this is in fact a lie. What he really likes to do is buy games, and leaving them sitting unopened on his shelf. He is a monster.
