Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate’s Day One Patch Has Free DLC

Many Monster Hunter fans have been eagerly awaiting the arrival of Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate, and now that it’s here, Capcom has done something delightful for its fans—there’s a whole heap of free DLC for players to help them out!

Called “The Starter Pack” (brilliant, Capcom…), there’s plenty of treasures to use as you head out on your adventure. Here’s the breakdown:

  • Mega Potion x50
  • Honey x30
  • Mega Dash Juice x15
  • Well-done Steak x30
  • Max Potion x10
  • Lifepowder x20
  • Ancient Potion x5
  • Flash Bomb x30
  • Sonic Bomb x30
  • Pitfall Trap x15
  • Shock Trap x15
  • Super Mushroom x6

All told, these items aren’t that hard to find or make in-game, but having these with you at the start will help to cut down on that initial grind as you try to get playing. Basically, it’ll help you slay more monsters, faster!

The “Super Mushroom” items can be brought to the smithy sometime after you start the game, and a Mario or Luigi outfit can be crafted for your Palico, a cat companion, as well as an Invincible Hammer that matches the outfit. Oooh!

Before you can download the DLC, you must create a hunter in-game, then download the patch from the eShop, then head to your in-game house and talk to the Housekeeper. After all that, the content should be under “Downloadable Content.”

Got all that? Now get hunting!

Faith likes games and books and cake and writing and Lara Croft, not necessarily in that order. She also thinks a Skylanders cartoon show is a really, REALLY good idea...
