Update for Code Name: S.T.E.A.M. and More Marth!

During this week’s Nintendo Direct, two important issues were raised and dealt with. The first has to do with Code Name: S.T.E.A.M., a fantastic strategy title that’s unfortunately hampered by the speed of your opponents. Enemy turns have been criticized for taking far too long, slowing down the flow of gameplay. Nintendo confirmed during the Direct that a software update is on the way that allows players to speed up enemy turns. On a standard 3DS (regular, XL, or 2DS) you’ll get it double the speed, but a New Nintendo 3DS will allow players to triple the speed of enemy turns.

And while this will certainly improve on the play experience, what about those players who missed out on the Marth amiibo? They vanished from store shelves quickly, meaning that very few have had the opportunity to experience the Code Name: S.T.E.A.M. benefits from having the Marth amiibo in-game.

Nintendo has confirmed that they’re going to do something about this, so there will be more Marth figures heading to market later this year. Whether that will really fix the balance remains to be seen, but we’ll let you know when more details arise.
