You ready for this? Today is the arrival of one of this season’s most highly anticipated games—which is also considered by some to be one of the most ambitious of all downloadable titles currently available on the 3DS. It’s SteamWorld Heist, Image & Form’s follow-up (but not sequel) to SteamWorld Dig.
The game is currently available with a launch discount of $16.99USD until December 31st, and if you buy within this window, you’ll also receive “an exclusive Nintendo 3DS Home Menu theme.”
Image & Form has stated that SteamWorld Heist should take players over 20 hours of gameplay to complete, and it strong in its assertion that the game should be considered competitive with other first-party titles currently playable on Nintendo systems.
They’ve also presented a breakdown for players on what to expect when they purchase this title, as a way to assuage any nerves about the higher price point for the game as compared to their first offering. While SteamWorld Dig is only $9.99, they say, SteamWorld Heist is 10x bigger and better than Dig, “ergo you’re getting 5 times the value.”
