You may recall some very exciting news that came from last November’s Nintendo Direct presentation—namely, the surprise announcement that Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past and Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King would be coming to these shores sometime during 2016. We knew they’d arrive one after another, but there was no additional info on release windows—until now!
Dragon Quest VII will be landing this summer, as revealed by Nintendo of America during a San Francisco press event. Also in the announcement was the reveal that there will be Streetpass functionality where passes turn into special battle items. The random encounter aspect of the game has also been removed from this remade edition.
Presumably the next instalment will follow shortly after.
