It’s time for another Shovel Knight cameo! Now, when the Shovel Knight amiibo was released, we had a feeling the character would be showing up in some random games in the future, but it’s time for maybe the most obscure appearance yet!
The shovel-wielding knight will make an on-screen appearance in Azure Striker Gunvolt 2! You scan in the amiibo as usual, and then enjoy an epic one-vs-one battle in-game with the Knight himself.
And if you find the sprite’s design looking a little bit familiar, it should—it was in fact designed by Masaya Suzuki, who has also done work on Mega Man Zero.
