It’s confirmed! We told you that Level-5 would be announcing a new Layton title this week, and that they’d said it would feature a different main character rather than the well-known Professor Layton of games past.
The next title will be: Lady Layton.
It’ll arrive on 3DS and smartphones next year, and will continue the beloved puzzle-based tradition of Layton games of the past. There’s a trailer with some animation (and a bit of smartphone gameplay), which at the moment is rather…generic. But it’s early days, and this was really only an announcement with little else to show off at the current time.
Can Lady Layton carry on the Layton name in an admirable fashion? We’re sure hoping so.
