Hey hey! Who’s ready for some amiibo fun on their brand new Nintendo Switch? With the upcoming Shovel Knight: Specter of Torment, it’s time to dust off your plastic figures and get prepped to enjoy new functionality for the Shovel Knight figure.
When you plink your amiibo down for any of the three story campaigns, Madame Meeber will appear—either in the Potionarium, Village, or Tower of Fate, depending on who you’re playing the game as—and will conjure up the Fairy of Shovelry to follow you through the game.
It’s pretty adorable and nice to have company, but at this point there isn’t any true benefit or detriment to having this guy along with you.
That said, it’ll also be added to the Treasure Trove update, which is coming for the Switch at launch tomorrow, and for the Wii U and 3Ds in April.
