Thimbleweed Park from Monkey Island Creator Headed to Switch

Fans of Monkey Island games and Ron Gilbert’s work in general will be excited to hear that the creator’s latest work, a point and click adventure called Thimbleweed Park, is heading to the Nintendo Switch sometime in the near future.

If you’re not a retro gamer, here’s some backstory: Gilbert used to work at LucasArts, where he masterminded some of the most memorable yet strange genre titles like The Secret of Monkey Island and Maniac Mansion.

We have no further details on Thimbleweed Park on the Switch, though the PC release happened earlier this year and has been described as a spiritual successor to those aforementioned iconic games from decades past. The game was successfully funded via a Kickstarter in 2014.

Dave will tell you that he likes to play video games, this is in fact a lie. What he really likes to do is buy games, and leaving them sitting unopened on his shelf. He is a monster.
