Yes, friends, it’s heading to North America! Bandai Namco has confirmed that Taiko no Tatsujin: Drum ‘n’ Fun! will officially reach western shores in November 2018.
This is a drum rhythm game that we’ve been waiting for, with many hints appearing on news sites and trademark sightings that suggested it would arrive sometime in the near future.
The Nintendo Switch version of this title uses the Joy-Con controllers as drumsticks (which seems like a logical step), and utilizes motion control play with an eye toward giving at-home players a similar experience to tackling this type of title at an arcade in Japan.
It will also be a multi-player experience supporting up to 4 players on 20 multi-player rhythm-based mini-games. If you want even more, a Rhythm Games mode will allow you to choose from classic Nintendo characters (and newer ones, like Splatoon) as your avatar.
Will the actual drum controller make its way here too? We’re not sure yet, but we’re keeping our fingers crossed!
Play Taiko no Tatsujin: Drum ‘n’ Fun! on November 2nd.
