Ocarina of Time: A 20th Anniversary Retrospective – 12:30pm-1:30pm (Sasquatch Theatre)

Ocarina of Time celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2018. Rated as one of the greatest games of all time, it has majorly influenced both the Legend of Zelda series and video games as a whole. Join the Zelda Universe team as they look back at a time when the N64 reigned supreme, discussing how Ocarina of Time shaped the industry, and whether it’s still the best or if we’re looking at it through Rupee-tinted glasses. There will be trivia with prizes, so brush up on your knowledge of the game!

PANELISTS: Elias Thompson [Twitch Director, Zelda Universe], Amanda VanHiel [Media Producer, Zelda Universe], Chelseyxlynn [Twitch Personality], Josh Jepson [Owner, Jepson Media], Brooke Jepson [Producer, Jepson Media], Caitlin Johnson [Reporter/Editor, Zelda Universe]

Retronauts: Super Metroid Vs. Symphony of the Night – 3:00pm-4:00pm (Raven Theatre)

It’s the ultimate metroidvania showdown as we settle once and for all which was truly the greatest, the most ambitious, the most influential work of the genre: Nintendo’s Super Metroid or Konami’s Castlevania: Symphony of the Night? Strong opinions will be expressed! Harsh words may be exchanged! Blood might even be spilled (only to be absorbed by a dhampir ensorcelled by Dark Metamorphosis)!

PANELISTS: Jeremy Parish [Senior Creative Director, Greenlit Content], Nadia Oxford [Editor, Gamer Network], Bob Mackey [Producer, Talking Simpsons Network], Mike Drucker [Writer, Full Frontal With Samantha Bee]

Dave will tell you that he likes to play video games, this is in fact a lie. What he really likes to do is buy games, and leaving them sitting unopened on his shelf. He is a monster.
