If the comments that came after the Nintendo Direct presentation today were anything to indicate what fans want for their consoles, the announcement of IronFall Invasion may have sated a thirst that many Nintendo fans have had for some time.
IronFall Invasion is an indie-developer third person shooter for the 3DS eShop, developed by VD-dev and heavily inspired by franchises like Gears of War. The game will use the New Nintendo 3DS/3DS XL’s C-stick for the precise control scheme that’s needed for a game of this genre, but you’ll also be able to play it on the regular 3DS or 2DS console.
There will be 6-player online and local multiplayer, as well as a single-player campaign. Nintendo isn’t really known for its shooters, and the 3DS has had a drought of these kinds of games (due to the single circle pad that limits controls), but the C-stick may change all that.
If you missed the presentation, here’s the game trailer below. We don’t have a release date yet, but we’ll keep you updated!
