One-Screen for Tekken Tag Tournament 2 on Wii U

Turns out there’s at least one developer who wants to keep things simple and familiar on the Wii U, despite all of what’s been said about the GamePad and what it’ll be able to do.

The series boss Katsuhiro, has described the GamePad’s screen as being possibly “distracting” for players of Tekken Tag Tournament 2, and are likely going to be using that features as a way of making the game more convenient, adding shortcuts, or possibly even making the gameplay all on the GamePad instead of large screen.

It sounds like the developers have yet to figure out how to make the GamePad work to the title’s advantage, but whatever happens, we’ll likely see something similar in other upcoming fight titles like Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition. Maybe the screen will have combo moves listed? That would be handy.

Regardless of what ends up happening, it’s abundantly clear that not all developers will be fully keen on utilizing the GamePad the way it was intended.
