Back in October 2010, Professor Layton fans were thrilled to hear that their favourite series would be getting another instalment called Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney (now Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wright)—which sounded fantastic from fans’ point of view, because it meant a game combining the puzzle-master and rookie lawyer!
But since that time… way back when… we’ve heard little to nothing about the game. Did you see the trailer in September 2011? That looked good, but what’s been going on since then?
Turns out we finally have a small update on the game, coming from a conversation in Famitsu about the upcoming Ace Attorney film. Creator of the series, Shuu Takumi, had this to say:
“Production on Layton vs. Ace Attorney is at its climax. It’s like my entire life is focused on it. While I still can’t say much, it’s progressing well, so please wait a bit more.”
Okay, so it’s not much, but it’s something! We still don’t know for sure if the game will be heading outside of Japan—or when—but at least we know things are on track and actually happening.
