What’s a good sign?
When one of the biggest game retailers in an entire country closes pre-orders on your system because the demand is too high.
Yep, if you’re in the United States and you don’t have your pre-order for the Wii U yet, you may be out of luck—GameStop has stopped accepting pre-orders for the Wii U completely, sending interest in this system to a new high.
The only way you can get around this is if you’re one of GameStop’s Power Up Rewards program members. In that case, you can get yourself on a no-deposit waiting list, and you’ll be contacted by your local store when the system launches on November 18th. There’s no guarantee you’ll get one if you’re on the waiting list, and it’s rather unlikely that you’ll get one on launch day.
And while we don’t know what sales are like elsewhere, the interest level is certainly a good sign—unless, of course, you don’t have your pre-order in yet. In that case? Might want to get on it!
