Although we’re used to annoying shortages of consoles on launch—remember the Wii? And the DS?—Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime is trying to calm down nervous buyers who worry that they’ll be waiting a long time for a Wii U, if they haven’t already pre-ordered.
Reggie spoke to Forbes (http://www.forbes.com) and had this to say about Nintendo’s supply chain:
“We’ve learned a lot of lessons from the launch of the DS, the launch of Wii and the launch of 3DS. And our supply chain is solid. My job is to work with retailers, work with other business partners to create demand for the product, and have the consumer get excited. And I think we’re well on the way to doing that.”
And while that doesn’t mean we’ll never see a stock shortage of the console, it sounds like those waits will be brief and fairly painless for everyone involved.
