Picked up a copy of FIFA 13 recently? Noticed anything… curious about the game? Perhaps a remarkable similarity to a certain FIFA 12…?
You’re not the only one, which is why Wired (http://www.wired.com) decided to probe a little deeper into EA’s intriguing decision to release almost the exact same game a year later for the Wii. The only changes? Different colored socks… the title screen has the words FIFA 13 in a different place… and a few new tunes.
Isn’t that what you wanted to spend your hard-earned cash on? Here’s what EA had to say when questioned about selling the same game with a different title:
“In a comment emailed to Wired, an Electronic Arts spokesperson mostly dodged the question, saying that FIFA 13 has “the same great gameplay” and that EA “felt it was important to continue to offer fans the opportunity to play an authentic football experience on Wii.”
Really, EA? REALLY? Elsewhere in the world, FIFA 13 has moved over 4 million units, so the game is a big deal, but apparently EA has little regard for the intelligence of Wii gamers.
To see just how far EA took this, head over to Nintendo Gamer’s (http://www.nintendo-gamer.net) gallery of images they grabbed from the game… it’s enough to turn your stomach at the audacity of the company: Fifa 13 Wii vs. Fifa 12 Wii – The Shocking Truth (http://www.nintendo-gamer.net/2012/09/27/fifa-13-wii-vs-fifa-12-wii-the-shocking-truth/2/).
