Capcom Acknowledges Fan Eagerness for Mega Man on 3DS

One of the most blatantly missing figures from any 3DS offerings is Mega Man, a classic gaming character who we’ve seen very little of in recent years. After the heartbreaking cancellation of Mega Man Legends 3, Capcom released Mega Man 1 through 3 on the 3DS eShop… but for Japan only.

Fist-pounding fans are demanding more of their favourite blue-suited man, and Capcom finally sat up and took out their earplugs. For a half a second, anyway. Here’s what Capcom’s Christian Svensson posted on the company forums, in an effort to garner a sliver of patience from fans:

“Patience… we’ll have things to discuss on this topic in the future.”

Well, it’s not much, but it’s a start. Does that mean Capcom will actually do something worthwhile for Mega Man’s 25th Anniversary? Something released in North America, perhaps? Fingers are crossed, and hope abounds that whatever happens does justice to Mega Man’s legacy in classic gaming.

Faith likes games and books and cake and writing and Lara Croft, not necessarily in that order. She also thinks a Skylanders cartoon show is a really, REALLY good idea...
