It was a rumor earlier this week, which then became a reality, which turned into an official announcement: the Wii Mini is real, and if you don’t live in Canada? You can’t have it.
For the time being, this little creature is a Canadian exclusive, and for anyone hoping to see this in Europe and the UK in the near future, we’re sorry—but Nintendo UK’s head of consumer marketing, James Honeywell, had some bad news for you at the Wii U midnight launch:
“We have no plans to launch it in the UK. Our focus here is all about Wii U.”
But for Canadian families who are looking for an affordable game console for Christmas, the Wii Mini launches on December 7th at the low price point of $99. The catch? No online functionality or GameCube compatibility.
