LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Swooping to the Wii U and 3DS

For everyone who’s been pouting in the corner, wondering why the DC superheroes got their own LEGO game and Marvel didn’t, the wait is over! Being added to the huge line-up of LEGO game titles like Lord of the Rings, Batman, and the forthcoming for Wii U LEGO City: Undercover is… LEGO Marvel Super Heroes.

In their announcement, Warner Bros. Interactive has announced that the game will be multi-platform, so we’ll see it on the DS, 3DS, and the Wii U—but a little surprisingly, not the Wii.

The storyline for the game will be an original Marvel storyline, with Nick Fury calling on everyone’s favourite Marvel superheroes to protect Earth from Loki and Galactus. The rumoured line-up so far includes Thor, Hulk, Iron Man, Wolverine, and Spider-Man—and they’ll be smashing their way through New York City, among other places.

The Vice President of Games Production at Marvel Entertainment, TQ Jefferson, made a brief statement about the game announcement:

“If you’re a fan of Spider-Man, the Avengers, Fantastic Four, X-Men, Guardians of the Galaxy or scores of other Marvel characters, this is the game for you.”

Players will get the chance to “Hulk SMASH!” their way through the New York City LEGO skyline in early Fall 2013.

Faith likes games and books and cake and writing and Lara Croft, not necessarily in that order. She also thinks a Skylanders cartoon show is a really, REALLY good idea...
