A little while ago we brought you the news that Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D had been announced during a Nintendo Direct broadcast—the game it a re-release of the original game for the Wii, made by Retro Studios, and one which received plenty of praise in its early days.
At the time, we weren’t given a release date (or even a release window), but the thought of playing this title as a 3D game sounded pretty exciting. We now know that Monster Games will be putting together this port, and Nintendo has gone ahead and announced that we’ll see the game in North America / Europe on May 24th of this year.
So, you won’t have to wait too long for this one… which is kind of nice, considering the speculation was that we’d see it later in the year, possibly closer to the holidays. Fire up that nostalgia drive and get ready to play DK Country Returns again for the first time… in 3D!
