Nintendo’s Wacky Antics for PAX Prime

We’re just over a week away from PAX Prime, held in Seattle from August 30th to September 2nd at the Washington State Convention Center. As usual, Nintendo will be there in full force, with games and activities galore to delight fans and would-be fans!

First up, Hideki Kamiya of PlatinumGames will be there to talk about The Wonderful 101 (Wii U), and he’ll have a session of his own entitled “Inside The Wonderful 101 with Hideki Kamiya.” The session will have an actor in Wonder Red garb handing out free Wonder-Masks, and at Nintendo’s booth, 101 copies of the game will be sold every day on a first-come, first-served basis. That’s getting the game two weeks before it hits store shelves!

If you spend over $25 in Nintendo’s retail zone, you’ll receive a printed Luigi timeline, while supplies last… but if that’s not your thing and you prefer free stuff, you’ll definitely want to take part in the celebrations for The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD and The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds. There will be a “Treasure Quest” with a map directing players to four quest zones inside the Convention Center, and players who complete all four quests may win a Wind Waker themed crayfish design t-shirt.

And if you love photo ops, you can look forward to a King of Red Lions ship replica to pose with!

Of course, along with all that jazz, we can’t forget all the playable Wii U and 3DS titles Nintendo will have on site. Scroll through—anything you’d like to try out next weekend?

Faith likes games and books and cake and writing and Lara Croft, not necessarily in that order. She also thinks a Skylanders cartoon show is a really, REALLY good idea...
