The title says it all… Satoru Iwata has mentioned, in the investor briefing, that one of the revitalization strategies for Nintendo is to offer DS games on the Wii U virtual console, or specifically, on the GamePad.
A quick-start GamePad feature will come in a system update this summer, allowing you to load games through a quick-start menu on the GamePad specifically, rather than waiting for the entire Wii U system to boot.
In the same briefing, it was also revealed that the NFC functionality on the GamePad will be one of Nintendo’s highlighted topics at E3 2014.
Presumably more details will emerge in the days ahead, but this is certainly an intriguing development for the Wii U system.
